Losses of Social Media

Social media is very useful and it is very easy to get news about our friends. Even the perfect tool for the job. So can social media have harms? We thought about this and would like to share our thoughts with you. Let’s start with the damages of social media, which we put together in four items.

It takes a lot of our time!

Nothing in your life has taken this much of your time! Statistics may vary by country and gender, but social media takes at least 3 hours. So the lowest social media usage per day is 180 minutes.

Our hours are spent with social sites and applications. With Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media accounts …

Are you aware of this? So what are you going to do about it?

Perception of reality is disappearing!

Virtual environments may be detaching people from the real world they own after a while. The virtual world and the Real world are always at war. This war is about time, not weapons.

There is a difference between planting plants in FarmVille instead of planting a real flower in the ground. Real plants produce oxygen. Farmville is just virtual distraction. It is more real to step on the ground and walk in your own garden.

We became social looking nerdy!

We became Social in the virtual world but asocial in the Real world. The social world is always at our fingertips, so now we go out less! We travel more and eat less outside. We see less of other people. So we lose the chance to meet new people.

We preferred live broadcast to meet!

Instead of meeting, we went live!

Instead of talking face to face, we pass our relationships through text messages. Video is not as popular as text message. Because written communication is faster.

As technology got faster, our relationships slowed down!

We chatted with emojis! The expression on your face is valuable when you say I love you to your lover. Or while sipping your coffee with an old friend, it is nice to feel the closeness in his voice. But we’re trying to do them with an emoji or a few lines of message.

All this uncontrolled virtual technology leads us to a more unpleasant life. And unfortunately, the dose of the virtual world is increasing day by day and reality is starting to disappear…
